Number of managers and/or staff supported:  In this position I support the President/CEO and as an offshoot of that I support all company executives. (Only two other executive secretaries.)

 

Typical work hours:  7:30am to 5/5:30pm

 

Weekends or overtime hours:  Do not get paid overtime. Do not work weekends. Stay each day until needs of executive are handled.

 

General salary range (Note: This is a general figure or range provided by survey respondent and may NOT be an exact salary in order to give survey respondent some privacy. Front-end = Sales & Marketing department, Credit buying department, Funding department, Commercial Credit department – those departments responsible for handling financing before a loan is established.

 

Back-end = Customer Service department, Collections department, Payment Processing department – those departments responsible for handling the consumer affairs after a loan is established.

 

Skip-tracing = tracking down a consumer who has a loan, is delinquent and has disappeared.

 

A typical day on the job:  Upon arrival open computer system, check emails, check daily schedule for president, pull any necessary paperwork, check daily schedule for myself, handle as many quick, easy and simple projects as possible before other things interrupt, there are daily, weekly and monthly tasks that are assigned to specific days/dates, handle any requests/needs as they happen……….at end of day – print out next days schedule for president, line up things to be done first thing in a.m.

Negative things about being an administrative professional in this industry:  Don’t think it is specific to the industry – the lack of engagement of people who are in a support position – they fill the chair from 8 to 5 – no forward thinking – no planning ahead – no initiative to do more than requested.

Primary responsibilities as an administrative professional in this position: 

Calendaring appointments – onetime meetings and on-going meetings.

 

Travel arrangements – contact travel agency – prepare agenda – prepare travel request and get signatures - put together folder with all necessary paperwork – and after the trip prepare the expense report.

 

Ad-hoc reports as required by executive.

 

Support and/or facilitate specific company initiatives: company picnic, company newsletter, employee meetings.

 

Assist in various administrative functions such as: budget/PR/check request processes, new hire preparation and orientation.

Individual must be able to multi-task and prioritize, interact with all levels of management and must be flexible, able to switch gears and maintain composure.


This position requires initiative and the ability to perform with little or no direction.
